Melissa and I are excited to share some big news with you. Most of you, who are receiving this email, know that we started a business a little over 3 years ago. It has been a crazy journey full of twists and turns, ups and downs and a lot of work. The great part is we think we have found something awesome that has the potential to be big. 

In case you don't know what we have been doing for the last 3 years, here is a quick preview and then we want to share some really big news. We started Connection Publishing when we contacted our city and offered to create a magazine for them. We wanted to create more connection in our community. We partnered with the city and became their official magazine. Within the first year, several other cities had found our magazine and reached out to us asking if we could create something similar for them. Today we publish 5 city magazines and have more in the works. We have seen tremendous growth and are so excited for the future.

Our first city was North Ogden and we added Pleasant View. We then started working with Syracuse City after about a year and a half. We also realized that in a modern world, we needed to publish the magazines not only in print that is mailed to everyone's homes, but also publish digitally on a custom city website and social media pages for everyone in those cities to be be able to consume our content in any way that they would like. Roy City contacted us later that year and so we started that magazine in January of 2019.

Some cool things started happening along the way, we run some annual community contests that our readers love. One is our annual art contest and the other is an annual photo contest. We get hundreds of entries in these contests every six months and have thousands of community members vote on their favorites and we then feature the winners in the magazines, it is a ton of fun.

The Big News

Most recently we signed an agreement with Ogden City to be their official city magazine starting this November. Ogden is our biggest city so far with over 32,000 homes. We are so excited to team up with Ogden. Ogden is the largest city in Weber County where we live. It is a vibrant city with a focus on the arts, music and winter recreation. This magazine will be awesome. 

We send the magazine to everyone and it is sponsored by local business advertisers who like what we do and love being part of a community publication. The cities love it too because it is such a great way to communicate their work and all that is happening within the city. We add to the city news with stories on local history, students of the month, business spotlights, recipes and restaurant reviews. People love these magazines.

The Big Big News

Ok, so Ogden is pretty big news, but we also have some big, big news. Along with growing by more than 65% each year (including what we are on track for in 2019), we will be competing for Americans top new entrepreneur on a National TV show called America's Real Deal season one is launching soon. As part of this program we will be taking investments in our company. This is where you come in. If you like what we are doing and want to be part of our future, we have filed all the necessary documents with the SEC and are now able to sell stock in our company to willing investors. 

Starting a business is pretty tough and we have worked hard and sacrificed much to be able to create this company. We have never wanted to ask our friends and family to borrow money. It just didn't feel like the right thing to do. When we found out about America's Real Deal and the Independent Stock Market, we knew it was the answer. It allows investors to purchase stock in our company and to become owners just like us. This helps us raise the capital we need and gives our family the chance to invest before we appear on the show, next year. As part of the show, we will be offering stock to investors and viewers. Think Shark Tank but where the audience gets to invest in the company instead of just the sharks. It also will allow investors to sell their stock at a future date and if we grow like we want to grow, at a higher price point.
